this thanksgiving my mom decided to divvy up the cooking among the female members of the family (kind of like a pot luck). since the boys are useless in the kitchen, we each had to take on 1 or 2 dishes by ourselves. i was in charge of the apple pie and even though i’ve never really baked anything from scratch before it turned out to be a big success. below is proof to show that i have real domestic skills! i’ll also post the recipe in case any of you want to try it out.
start with your favorite type of apple (make sure they’re a good kind for baking)
peel each apple
slice them up and measure out 7 cups
mix in the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt
combine the mixture with the apples and place into the pie crust
place the second piece of pie crust on top and pinch the 2 pieces together- bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes
and voila!
